Agape love

If our love fluctuates with emotion and circumstance it is not true love. True love, agape love, is not a feeling but rather a decision. It is able to be offered because it comes from God Himself within us, His very character. It is loving the unlovable and the unlovely just as He would do. Agape love is sacrificial, setting aside our own agenda, to love like Jesus without motive. When we accept God’s love for us, we can love others without expectation and selfish schemes. Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. Freedom from pursuing others to fulfill our desires, because God occupies that space He created for Himself alone; and freedom to love others as He has loved us.
